Personal information - Your name, postal and e-mail address, telephone number, payment information, etc. is private and confidential. Any personal information you provide is stored in a secure location, is accessible only by our staff, and is used only for the purposes for which you provide the information (i.e. to ship your order or sign up for our free newsletter).
If you sign up for our free newsletter, only your name and e-mail address will be added to our mailing list. If at any time you change your mind and would like to remove your name from the mailing list, please click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any newsletter and you will be automatically unsubscribed from the mailing list. Personal information will not be released to third parties except if release is required by law or is pertinent to judicial or governmental investigations or proceedings. There are no other circumstances under which we will provide or sell personal information to third parties.
Identifiable Information Tracking - Our website does not track, collect or distribute personal information about its visitors. Our website does recognize a few things. It does note your IP address. This is used to prevent fraud. It also tracks information about the visits to our website (and so does every other website - it's a default function). These statistics show the number of visitors to our website, times they visited, what browsers they are using, what countries they are from, etc. These statistics are used internally to better provide services to YPP customers. They contain no personal information and cannot be used to gather such information.
Website Security - Security is of critical importance to us and we know it is to our customers! We are NOT part of any large shopping cart service. We have our own domain, server space and shopping cart.
SSL protects the transmission of your sensitive information to and from the web server. Access to files on web servers is password protected as standard procedure, but that's not good enough for us or our customers! Your data is also encrypted. So,even IF someone did get past the password protection and into the system files, your order data will be protected by 128 bit bank security level encryption.
All transaction related data is also encrypted when stored on our local office computers. So, if somebody broke into my office and stole the computer off my desk and tried to get your credit card numbers from the ordering system, it would be encrypted and would still be protected. CCard numbers are not stored any longer than it takes to process your order. In most cases, it's instant and we don't get to ever see them! That's why when customers ask to add a prodct to their order after it is placed, we have to call and get the cc number again as we never saw it in the first place, which is a good thing. We do not keep them on file except in a few cases when requested by a customer.
Why use so much protection? A better question would be WHY NOT? If the technology exists to make transactions on the web and data storage as secure as possible, why not utilize it? We are committed to keeping your data as secure as possible and will continue to update/upgrade our security measures as needed to provide the best protection possible. EXPECT NOTHING LESS!
